Our Fearless Leader:
Kirk Pifer, founder of "Cheater Five Surf Company", Began building surfboards during the shortboard revolution after learning to surf longboards in the mid to late 1960's. High performance and quality craftsmanship were early goals in Kirks's quest to build the perfect surfboard.
Through the years Kirk has worked with and learned from some of the most respected names in the surfboard industry. These include names like, Bob Hurley, Robert August, Barry Kanaiaupuni, Eric Arakawa, Tim Carrol and George Ku.
Kirk has been designing logo T-Shirts for almost as long as he's been building surfboards. Leading up to the "Cheater Five" Trademark. Kirk has designed lines of T-Shirts for "Pacific Glass" and "Longboard Club."
Kirk's favorite surfboards are high performance longboards and "Short Longboard Hybrids", where he employs his Trademark "Venturi-Vee Bottom" Triple Concave. These are some of the fastest, loosest boards available. They will improve your surfing experience and take your breath away when you ride one.
Kirk now has over 40 years of board building experience and has set himself up to take advantage of the surfing lifestyle on the North Shore of Oahu. Were he can be found in the water almost every morning.
